AMG logo question...

I bought an '01 E55 a few weeks ago that the previous owner had removed the rear AMG logo. I just got my replacement in the mail and wanted to know how to put it on properly....really don't want to screw it up!

-How exactly should it go on?
-If I make a mistake, how do you get them off?
-Does anyone have a good close up pic (with the tail-light for reference) so I can line it up properly?

Thanks in advance, love the car!!

Measure twice stick once

Clean surface with alcohol, measure and mark with marker and stick it on. I hope you're not trying to put one by one letter on?? If that the case here is what you should do, get a clear scott tape and place it over the top side of the emblem, that way it all together and equal ly spaced out than peal off 3M tape and stick on. Once you stick it on your chances of redoing it is slim.

If you afraid you might mess it up then just wet the surface with water and dish soap, that way you can move it around before it dry up and stick on.

good luck!

E55, 380SL, GLA 250 Sport, AMG GTS
I had to redo mine. If you still have the E55 in place, it would make it easier. I used write on scotch tape all the way starting from under the E55 logo to the other side creating an even and strait line compare to other landmark lines on the trunk lid. Then I used the same technique as Peter by picking up the / // ///AMG logo from the paper it is loosely stuck to, using another piece of a scotch tape stuck to the face(front) of the logo. Measure the distance of the E55 to the left edge and place the AMG logo above the long tape ( ala the E55 logo on the other side) on your trunk, respecting the same distance to the right edge as the E55 logo to the left edge. Remove tapes, wipe and you are done.

One more quick question...

Do the logos "follow" the slight slope of the top of the trunk? My eyes tell me yes as opposed to parallel to the ground (completely flat).
