Angry Yup.. P0173 and p0170

I knew it was the MAF ! Took it down to Autozone couldn't wait for the OBDII to arrive. But seriously it seems like these puppies go every 40k mi if your rocking K&N according to other forums... Weird I'm going to check the K&N tomorrow and see if they need to be clean/oil. I also read one forum that someone was able to clean the MAF and reset engine light and all was good also stated that after 2 months ... still no check engine light...

Can you really clean out the MAF ????????

Yes, one can easily clean there MAF sensor applying Quick Dry Electrical Cleaner or MAF Sensor Cleaner. Simply spray and dry. Nonetheless, nix the K&N filters and go back to OEM. Thus, removing the possibility of oil residue build up. My original MAF sensor reached only 45K before it went kaput. Bosch sucks. I plan on replacing my MAF sensor every 50K...kaput or not. Nothing like the kick of a new MAF sensor.

I am not sure how much are they in the UK, but I bet you it is cheaper from the US....www.autohausaz.com , I know they are OEM Bosch inserts ( there are a lot of fakes out there) .

'04 Silverado Z71 - sold all my Benzes and need another!
I almost completely removed the oil from the K&N's before install and never had issues, hmmm. Regardless, before you go and buy another MAF, clean it first as recommended above and give it a shot. It was replaced before I bought the car, I think less than 10k miles ago from what the previous owner said but who knows if the oil from the filters messed it up. I have a pair of RENNtech foam filters (no oil) and I'll swap you if you'd like. Johnny, call me!
