Finally got my E55!
I posted several weeks ago that I was buying an E55, and now I've got my grubby mitts on it
On the drive home I noticed some intermittent transmission/bearing whine that will need fixing, and I'll need another remote key fob - any suggestions appreciated?
The car is absolutely stunning, despite being nine years old - our family of six were big fans of E-class estates and now we've got the AMG version everybody's delighted! It drives so easily and smoothly - far better than many modern models.
I was reassured about the fuel consumption too. Did a 250-mile trip taking in Central London and a long motorway haul and it only took half a tank - wow!
Here's a pic, I'll be around more often now...

Yes, a pretty rough area of Greater London, hence the security measures!
I'll be scouring the forum looking for answers to a number of queries I have about ICE upgrades, recommended tyres and maintenance tips.
In the meantime please feel free to contact me.

Thanks for all the welcomes. Just had a great run home to Scotland - all 700 miles of it and the car drove brilliantly. I found myself cackling every time I overtook something.
She might be no spring chicken but bot can she lift her skirt!
Found a few more problems including a very pressing one - the radio (Audio 10) won't switch off at all, but I'll post in the appropriate forum...

Nice. I have a 2000 black one. I don't recall a luggage rack on the roof of mine!! I don't know, I just thought those were for E-station wagons or something. Luggage rack on AMG??? Ever see a luggage rack on a Vet or a Ferrari?
Congrats! Just having some fun with you.
