Anyone crack their motor mounts?

broken motor mounts question
Kev and MikeC
New user. I posted a question under a different thread and probably should have jumped in here. My 55 has a rattling sound under part throttle, sound like a piston or something in exhaust. If I go full throttle, it seems to clear up. Do you suspect it's a motor mount problem as discussed in this thread. I will take to dealership in the next couple days, just not sure how to describe this. Sometimes it's louder than others. Strange for sure. Doesn't appear to be any engine failure, been hearing this for couple weeks.

There is a bracket from the catalytic converter if this is broken it will make noises similar to a bad motor mount. I have just come across this problem on my E55.

Interesting. It kinda seems like it's coming from the engine bay, is this bracket anywhere near there? It might just sound that way but coming from exhaust. That would make sense though, as I floor the pedal it probably torques in a way that stops the noise, and then when I let off it comes back. Have you taken to dealer yet???

I was at the dealer yesterday after about three times (3-4 months) trying to get this problem diagnosed and fixed. They have even changed the engine mounts. They have now found the problem as stated before, and they have order two new converters for the car.

What dealer are you going to. Love to have a name and phone number so when I go to my dealer they don't give me the run around (and then I have to beat the crap out of someone in the service drive). Thanks.
