w210 E55 steering , too soft??
Couldnt find anything in the previous posts, maybe I missed it....
Has anyone been able to stiffen the steering of the W210 e55? I know that
steering on these cars has always been softer than lets say a Bimmer, but I almost feel that it has gotten softer lately...power steering fluid level is fine, actually if it is low the steering will be stiffer, any comments?

Your steering damper is probably bad, it costs $26 to replace and 15 min to install. most peoples are bad and they don't even know it . Replace it and you should have much firmer more precise steering, did wonders on my old C36. Hope that helps.

am I missing something? I cant find any link to steering dampers for the W210 E55 ? I thought that the steering had an integrated damper...

W210 E55 don't have a separate steering damper. I believe it is integrated to
the steering system - pls. correct me if I'm wrong.

Ooooh ya, I forgot why. The steering damper was only used on the reciprocating ball steering systems used on most of the MBs at the time. W210 E55s was one of the first to use rack & pinion steering hence a completely different setup. Most other MBs had the steering damper seperate. I guess it can't be that then, perhaps check all your bushings to make sure they are still intact.
