i need brake pads
I need some brake pads, like asap! getting the grinding and the message on the DIC.
So, what pads are good ones to install. i def don't want stock ones as they make to much brake dust. i was thinkin Hawk pads???
Anyone have a link to a set? or have a set for sale???
Any tips, let me know please... thanks!

I was in somewhat of a rush as you are to get the new pads on and installed Wagners. I'm sure they will have a little more dust, but after researching the ceramics, decided to stick with the conventionals. It appears that ceramics take heat to really be effective. My typical commute is less than 5 miles, so no real way to get them warm to be truly effective.

This is Tire Racks take on ceramic pads....Does anyone know the difference between the Mercedes Anit-squeal compound and the anti-squeal compound you can buy at any auto store? Also I've read Mercedes Anti squeal is the same thing as Anti Seize from Permatex...this guy even said he tested it in a lab.

Yes I did get my stuff but instead of Akebono I bought EBC Redstuff. The reason I didnt buy the Akebono because they didnt make it for the front (CLK). Anyway, those brake pads are sitting here in my room but I havent got time to install it yet so yea. looks like you got a good deal for your brake pad.

ALrighty guys i went ahead and installed the pads. they are awesome!!! i can't believe the difference b/w these and stock!
Turns out the sensor was caused by the rear pads. they were prolly 20% left. the fronts were still 50%, but i figured, nice pads and no dust, i'll just do it.
my only issue was the rotors needed to be cross hatched to rid of the lip. i hate how Euro cars do this! other then that, fresh fluid and i was ready to roll!
So, if anyone ever needs new pads, i def recommend the Akebono!
