Hey all. It's my ad on Craigslist. It is a gen 1 and never installed. Intended for my 01 E55. I have to blame the economy.

I dont mean that hps gen 1 was bad supercharger, however you need more then few tweaks to make it work right...

basically-

$100 worth of (used) of splitsecond tuning (need a laptop and some intelligence too)

An upgraded fuel pump- many bosch or pierburg options will work. I've had best success now with a pierburg model that I found which is commonly used in a mustang supercharger kit.

nothing else is "really" needed- Obviously some dyno time and or a good wideband are required for the tuning.

The kit fits on the car decently although installation is a confusing mess due to no help from manufacturer and horrible directions.

Other very helpful tweaks are to find better cooling- methanol injection, an intercooler etc. are likely to help a lot.

honestly though- none of that is ridiculous extra work wise

Questions

Someone chime in here and educate me a bit. So is the GEN1 HPS was also based on the Eaton roots type supercharger, not the twin screw one,,right..obviously it is not the same as the one that Kleemann uses now but similar ? Kleemann's first Gen SC was using the Twin Screw made by a company which is now out of business. Does any one know what type of Supercharger is used in the Renntech setup ?

not as my car sits now. for many reasons I 'street tuned' my car myself rather than getting it on a dyno. I did dyno it initially after isntalling the kit only to find that my MAF was broken- another 4.3 on the forum made roughly 340 hp and 370 ft. lbs though
