lifting e55 via lifter...
hi guys is it ok to lift the car using a lifter that leaves the tires hanging? the lifter has square rubbers that lifts the body of the car tru the jackpoints [ruuber under the car] that hangs the four tires.. its unlike other lifter that lifts the whole car ........ is it safe or ok for our suspension , tranny, diff etc......

Yeah, the wheels can hang on the lift, this is normal. You can lift off the jack points (rubber bumpers at four corners) or off the actual "rail," so to speak, directly under the car, so long as you lift a substantial amount of the rail. I've seen this done on my car with no problems. Some tire shops use this type of lift, which is similar to an ATV lift, because it lifts the car only a foot or two, enough to get the wheels on and off without having to use a full blown lift.
