Question Ring &Pinion Gearing to E55

I would like to gear the diff. to improve my 0-60. Can anyone recommend who to go to and what to expect?

Changing the differential on the Mercedes requires also changing/reprogramming the EGS controller (transmission computer) to prevent the ESP from constantly going off (putting the car in limp mode) due to the wheels spinning differently than it expects.

I would only recommend the MKB differential because it includes the EGS controller which is necessary to get the results you desire. On the 55, you can either upgrade from your stock 2.82 to a 3.07 or a 3.27. We did a 3.27 on a CLK55 Cab up North, and the customer was ecstatic at how easy it was to spin the tires

It is also very expensive. It is not like changing the gears on a corvette or any American car. Which would run in the neighborhood of $1000-$1500 dollors with labor. You would be looking at in excess of $5,000 for the benz.

Can the diff. from a E320 be used? I noticed the 3.07:1 come standard on the 320.
