Right headlight going out intermittently?

Anyone else seen this problem, I turn my lights on and off sometimes and it goes away. Easy fix hopefully?

No thats never normal at all ... and has nothing to do with Xenon, unless the Xenon ballast gone bad but usually that wouldnt be intermittent.
If it is intermittent , then it is a frayed wire or a shorted connection.
check all your connectors, the wires coming to them at the plug, and then check the switch itself...it might be the light switch ( contactor inside ) that needs replacement , although that is a remote possibility since you say it is only the right side. connector at the headlight... bulb or socket... or wiring shorted..start by taking the headlight switch off , cleaning with contact cleaner , clean the plug on the headlight and see if that happens again

Your HID bulb is about to burn out..its a matter of time before it burn out completely. I have the same issue while back, also each time i hit a bump it would flicker after a few weeks it never came back on.

What if the light is turning into yellowish? is it the bulb or the ballast?
The bulb is about 2 months old.

If its only 2 months old it might of not burned in completely .. After looking for replacements come to find out that our philips d2r bulbs on some replacements comes with a + on the end of the numbers and if it has that then it will burn more yellowish after burn in . The bulb without the + will burn up to 4800-5000k and stay whiter its lifespan .

My bulb went off and did the on off switching it back on eventually would stay on , couple months later stayed off for good and only flickers when i try to turn them on , other side lights up perfectly . Just ordered new set of bulbs and still just flickers on one side so now im almost positive its the ballast .. So if yours is doing the same get ready you ballast is on its way out sooner or later ..

cant really say how long .. i bought that car last march .. never had a problem wth it untill recently . couple months back i noticed it wasnt lighting up and then last week or two it hasnt turned on .. I ordered new bulbs figuiring if i change one change both they so matchin color but the bulb still wont work .. Now i heard you have to remove the whole bumper to get the headlight housing out .. So I'm still hoping its just a loose plug or so as im not ready to take apart the whole front end just to swap out a ballast ..

Connector contacts

Remove the connector and take a close look at the contacts. You won't be able to see the contacts but you can tell if there is a problem because there will be a discoloring around the contact area caused by heat. In this case the contact has built up too much resistance through corrosion and is causing a loss of voltage through the resistance and if sufficiently bad will cause intermittent on/off failures.

If this is the case replace the connector.

checked that first thing and in my case seems ok no build up what so ever .. Just cant figure out why it flickers if the ballast messed up .. would figure it wont have any power whatsoever rather then get the bzzz at power up and a 2-3 flicker before goes out . anyhow waitin on ballast and well see after that

E55 AMG 00'
mine does not go off and on but the front right headlight first appears blue just like it's supposed to be and then fades into yellow. Hope it's the bulb :S
