Tire patches
Does anyone know if Dunlop tires tend to have a larger/wider patch or overall widths for the same size tire compared to other brands.. I was using pirellis , now i switched to Dunlop same exact size, all of the sudden it is rubbing in the fronts !

It's probably the shoulder block. Some tires like Pirelli have very rounded shoulder blocks. Do your Dunlops have a very square shoulder?
Your E55 should have rolled fenders. What size tires and what wheels are you running that you get rubbing?

I have a very aggressive setup AND offsets... 255/35/19 F and 285/30/19 R ,
it took me forever to get it just right at the edge... switched from Pirelli to Dunlop .. and voila .. rubbing .... it must be the profile of the dunlop because everything else is the same.

Just to let everyone know , I just confirmed that the Dunlop tire is almost 1/4" wider in the width section ( patch ) than both Pirelli and Michelin for the exact same tire size , in my case : 255-35-19.. so for any of you that are pushing the limits on flushing with fenders , specially on lowered cars, 1/4" can change things quite a bit.

yes, generally dunlop tires run a little wide ... i remember from my E36 M3 days when i had a similar issue. the car didn't rub with michelins but it rubbed as soon as i put on dunlops.
