Sell the H&R and cut the factory!

Buy either Bilstein Sport Shocks (1 inch drop) or Adjustable Koni shocks (a bit more expensive, but you'll have control of height)

I would NOT cut my springs.....but thats just my 2 cents.

LeeRod! the bilstein sport or koni ones not drop the car! the height in the car is variable via Springs, not shocks.. any way, the koni sport yellow adjustable is pretty exelent (running on my car) you can control the hard/soft sens in the car & the difference between the factory ones are extremly notorious in handling.. some people sayd bilsteins sports are a bit harsh, by the way i prefer koni's but really i don't prove bilsteins & i like it very much the bilstein ones..

Cutting the factory springs you change the spring compression rate. & the car turns in to a very harsh sens.. you can buy some used EURO spec springs to drop your car with a factory compression rate (medium soft - medium hard), some people go for Eibach springs y sayd are very very exelent in drive sens & drop

Hope that help

Yes, but he said he has H&R springs. Im guessing the sports. So I was only talking about the Shocks, which are 1" shorter than stocks!

Shocks do not/ should not be used to alter the height of the car , shorter shocks means they are compressed, or the travel length is less... that wont affect the height of the car .

Get the cup kit if they still make it. Or if you don't want to spend the money, cut a 1/4 of a coil off of your h&rs.

It is quite dangerous for some people to throw in ( Cut the springs, 1/4 coil, 1/2 a coil etc ) to other members .. not because it cant be done.. and I know that it can be fine IF IT IS DONE PROPERLY, and with the right tools.. reality is unless the person who is asking knows why and how and either has the means and expertise , or the knowledgeable outfit to do it right for him, chances are most people will think it is easy and go ahead and do it themselves...thats why most of us recommend NOT doing it... there are plenty of W210 that are done right and safely using proper springs...there are also the Euro springs which are just right , ( Abalone's car , and others ) .....lets stick to these options as far as recommendations...

If someone wants to SLAM their car , slap on 20 inchers and do away with the pads all together or whatever... then I guess safety or respect for their AMG car is not their concern and they should do what they want, and listening to other members in the know is unlikely!!

Kev.. why would you experiment with springs which no one had tried before on our cars? I dont know , they are probably fine.. but maybe not...I have played around forever with so many springs...now I have finally settled on Eibach, the new Knoi's FSD, #1 pads F/R, I am running 255-35-19F & 285-30-19 R, front and back I can barely squeeze one finger over the tires...do you need it any lower than that ?...you mention that if you stay with the 18 then you want it dropped more..... why? Overall diameter of the wheel/tire should stay the same with 18s or 19s, it shouldnt make any difference ... as long as you use the right size tire that is... my overall tire diameters are a hair larger than stock.. car rides beautiful, and it is as low as I would want to go.. but thats just me. Cheers,
Max

Eibach, H&R, Vogtlands... those are the three brands you should be considering. Don't waste your time with anything else.

Other then that your only other option is Euro Spec springs (which are great as well if you can find them used, new they can be a bit pricey).

How does your car ride with the Eibach's and Koni's? Do you have any pictures? Are they the Eibach part numbers for the 320/430?

Try the SSI Springs on ebay. There is a trend here already for them. They are fairly cheap...my two cents.

The only way to have it drop more then you want to and stay with the 18" wheels are to cut the springs. Check out ulovemybenzo tread bye w204 hello w210 amg!!!! on this site
