windshied replacement - oem or aftermarket
I found online an OEM w/rain sensor - $315, and without $286 (just the part - no labor)
Does the W210 class have the radio antenna installed in the windshield (if so, no wonder reception isn't all that good!)?
I see the black dot pattern in the windshield in the upper middle portion. would that be the rain sensor.
I can easily live without the rain sensor, but I'd like an antenna. They are scheduled to do the work one week from today, and I've emailed them my question and asked them to call.
What I have also considered is the possibility that there is no aftermarket windshields, and these installers are using OEM parts - but at a much better cost for the consumer.
Thanks for any suggestions
Rain sensor? is important, you can't adjust the wiper in the first intermittent possition without the sensor, (not works) only work 2 & 3 position..
The Radio antenas are located in the REAR winshield not front, no problem
Is not a big dea bro. Go for OEM

You can buy PPG aftermarket, which should be identical to Mercedes OEM just the star symbol is missing.

Maybe the windshield company buys from PPG. I'll know soon enough.
The PPG and OEM are identical. The OEM is made by PPG. PPG runs some batches, prints the star logo on them, sells them to Mercedes, and Mercedes resells them as OEM. Then PPG runs some batches without the star logo and sells them directly as PPG glass. Same exact glass, only they can't legally print the star logo.
The only time to get OEM is if the alternative is some non-brand. PPG should be easy to find, because it includes compatibility with the windshield rain sensor.
