what's the point in signing up for this and what costs are involved???? didn't read anything but i'd love a plaque for this beast

The point is to enthusiastically celebrate our cherished AMGs, despite not knowing who the "father/engine builder" is. Since 2003, the engine builder has placed his signature plaque on the engine of all new AMG cars. There were quite a few AMGs that left the factory prior to that point without the signature plaques.....hence the "orphan" moniker.

To my knowledge, we are not able to purchase an engine builder's signature plaque.

There is no cost whatsoever - it's a worldwide virtual club. Let me know and I'll add you to the list.

If we get enough interest, we may attempt to orgainze a gathering at some point.

Raise your hood. If your E55 engine bay looks like this, you do not have an engine builder's plaque:

Here's what the plaque looks like and comes on all new (2003+ model year) AMGs.
