This may very well be a silly question, but do w210 cars have an active or dynamic suspension on the rear, or front and rear? Thanks.

 

Nope.

 

I did not think so...but one "suposedly" knowledgeable amg mechanic here in town told me to stay away from these cars because of these suspensios which fail frequently and can banckrupt you...even after I insisted I was talking about the non supercharged W210 cars...go figure..
I am just searching for a decent Indy shop here in Houston to assist after I find my E55. .thanks.

 

Not a very knowledgeable mechanic. He was thinking of the 211 E55. The 210 E55 is as reliable as a Honda Accord. It's a great daily driver.

 

Active suspension was an option on the w210 in Europe. However, it was very expensive and almost never opted for...

The cars (W210) equiped with active suspension has the oil reservoire for the suspension in the engine bay, driver side, back the driver side headlamp you would see the stickers saying CHF-11S oil for pneumatic suspension, and you would see a little switch in the center wood console, near the shift knob (right hand) with a shock design & 2 little down arrows, when you depress the switch turs on a red point in the center of the switch, when you depress again the other side disactive the system turning off the red point

W210 wagon comes with OEM rear pneumatic suspension but not Active.. only pneumatc.. Active suspension is optional but extreme expensive all 4 shocks
