A guy in the w203 section just pick up an 2006 C55 with similar miles for $17.5.... Good luck with sale but the price is off the charts.

Clean machine, stay with the price. C55 AMGs should sell 20-26K. If someone bought one at $17.5K, then you can bet it has a problem.
We should not give these cars away, the last of the great Mercedes; everything beyond is comparable to everything else on the market!

2000 E55
Thanks guys. I really appreciate your positive input. I am ofcourse willing to come off the price with a fellow enthusiast who is a serious buyer. Hopefully one that can appreciate the car like I do. This is one of the few cars that I have seen that is as clean and as well maintained as this one is. Most of the ones I have found are well over 100K miles and/or needs thousands of dollars in maintainance. The other ones were cars sold by dealers who knew nothing about the cars history. The car truly needs nothing, not even brake rotors. They were replaced recently as well.
I think the W210 E55 would run circles around a 2006 C55 when it comes to overall maintenace costs and owner satisfaction. There is no getting around that this is one of the only AMG cars thats easy on the wallet and one that you can perform most of the service yourself. Especially without having to have a warranty attached to it. And even so, there arent too many warranty companies that would sell you a contract on a AMG. I used to own a C43 and it was just the same.

+1 - I bought my '01 with 16k miles on it and it just turned 109k this week. The initial investment in '04 was a lot more than they are selling for now, and I was a little scared of the upkeep. Despite camshaft replacement and a rack-n-pinion issue - all under Starmark, mine has been very reliable. I've only replaced the MAF, one window regulator and one A/C hose. I'd certainly like better tire life, but this one is a keeper for sure. It wasn't always the daily driver, but with the economy etc, I've gotten rid of a 4WD truck and a motorcycle, but my E55 will stay with me for the long-haul. I almost rear-ended somebody doing about 55mph last Sunday. Had I not been in my E, I and my elderly parents would have been in the hospital. Stood on the brakes, yanked the wheel and off we went into the median. For the record, my father was the one who diverted my attention from the road in front, but also the one who said, "Watch out!" Mom said, "Thank you Timothy,...I said don't thank me, thank the car."

These cars tie the Ferrari F550 Maranello in braking.
