E55 in Oakland
Hi Guys, To all northern Cali guys I need advice on this car. There's a E55 in Lexus of Oakland. Any you guys test drive this car and what do you guys know about her. I saw this car 2 months ago it was listed $16,880 and now they are selling it for $13,880. I just want to get any information before I go there and test drive the car. I also noticed its like every 3 weeks the price is going down. Are people seeing something wrong with the car. I know a lot people are looking for a E55 and why is this car not selling. Thanks

I'd venture to say they'll start getting some bites at that price...17K start price is just absurd, I don't care if it is retail or not. That kind of price better bring a low mileage gem. Nice options (vented seats are awesome)...some people don't like the nav or prefer their smartphone but I would say its a plus. Looks like a nice E55.

I always find it funny - rarely does anybody take a pic of the entire gauge cluster. It'd be interesting to see how many pixels are out on the two outer gauges. I'm nearing the replacement point on mine. Found a company in MA that will refurbish mine for less than half the cost of a new one thru Benz.

There's a DIY on how to fix this dead pixels and I believe it's pretty easy. My temperature gauge is starting to display this issue but not consistently. Come summertime I'm going to try the solution suggested.

@ ob1kenobi - Ah, well I've have to do some thread searching - thanks for the info. Mine are both pretty bad. The clock only displays sevens in the first and fourth positions now. Ever once in awhile I can still somewhat guess what it's trying to tell me about the outside temperature. I know they all do this, what puzzles me is why MB continued to use this flawed system for so long. LCD...hello?
