Did you guys ever experience this? When you tell your friends you want to buy W210 the first thing they will tell you is why do you want that car, thats for old people. Is that a W210 reputation? I usually tell them maybe but not the W210 E55 AMG. Maybe today I will be a E55 owner, I cant wait to pick it up . My first project is to lower her I already ordered the H&R springs so hopefully this weekend I can install it.

 

Even I call my car an old man's car. Let people figure out how "slow and old" it is themselves.

 

Well, no one I know even knows what a W210 is...as for the reputation of being an "old man's" car, well, most people consider all Mercedes to be "old man" cars. Although mine looks far from this, I get a lot of truck that try to race me. They have no idea what an E55 is.

 

People who say this is an old mans car is just not young at heart. LOL!

 

We shouldn't give a rat's a$$ to what people say about our cars....whether it's an E55 or a P1800. If they know what it is and what it means in automobile history, great...if they don't explain it to them...and if they are smart they will understand....

Must be the AMG torque! He had more horses!

Funny you should mention IS-F...I saw one parked in a parking lot...Don't see much of them around here

Yes...it will...but I can't stand the "fake" quad exhaust pipes....just another M3 wannabe....

 

@ Swim Wagon yes I did. They are replacing the windshield and fixing the sun shade. I'm on my way to pick it up right now . Do you guys know how much is the cd for the Nav?

 

Check the for sale forums here or eBay. Normally you have to buy the whole set, which is in the $200 to $300 range from the dealer, I think. If you just need one disc, you can find them online for much better.

@mtnhouse - I guess our cars are considered "old man" types, but I specifically bought mine for its "sleeper" appeal. I bought mine in 2005 and most everything new that went fast had huge wings etc which I can't stand. I had all the Honda stuff early on etc, but could afford something with a good ride and great performance. I also didn't have to spend a ton on aftermarket stuff to make it do what ours (and way more) can do from the factory. I also didn't have to worry about warranty squabbles due to chips/exhaust or whatever else was altered. Depending on how you drive it, you really only take a few mpg penalty to have a ton of torque and great power also. All while enjoying heated leather seats, Bose stereo and "bulletproof" reliability.

 

Been driving mine for a year and Have yet to have or hear anyone call my car an old mans car .. Its my daily driver and sun,or snow i get compliments on it daily no matter what age the guys are . good feeling it gives for 10 yr old benz with 125K on the clock and under $10k purchase .. IMHO probably best purchase/price that I ever made .

 

I don't mind having people call it old man's car. So long as they see my tail lights after I blew past them LOL!

dammit. i was going to go look at that car and they said it sold the day before i could make it out there.

i went and looked at a '00 E55 today that looked good in the pictures. drove 45 minutes to the place, walked around it and left. the paint was in bad shape and it needs tires. the dealership was pretty shady looking once we got there, so i didn't really want to buy from them anyways.

Those rims woulda threw me off the getgo .. The paint dont look to bad in the pics , . Was it rusted or chipped? or just swirled to hell .. Should of atleast test drive it ? LoL Why drive out there for nothing get a feel for what your looking for . Unless you had one before .
