Banged up AMG

Banged up AMG
I have an independent Mercedes shop in Florida, and Mercedes have and always will be part of my families lives. I'm 25 and currently there is a 2004 E55(bro in law) and my first AMG, a 2002 E55. Outside AMGs, my mother drives a 2005 e320, my sister a 2005 e320 wagon, and another sister drives a 2006 c320 4-Matic. Glad to be a new member to this forum and to share and receive help whenever possible. My brother had this lovely 2001 and unfortunately did not buy tires as often as he needed to. This happened on the Polk Parkway in Lakeland and when I came to pick him up I wanted to cry. ( I drove a 1995 E320 at the time) Hope you enjoy! Anyone else have pictures of when an AMG bites back?

Out Of Control!
That'll just buff right out! lol
j/k
On a more serious note. This is definitely not enjoyable. I'm assuming the driver lost control and the tires weren't able to keep up? Looks pretty much totalled.

total loss
At the time I think the insurance pay out was $26k or some such number. He claimed 55mph and hydroplaning; I tend to think it was more along the lines of bald P Zeros and a heavy foot. At the time all I could think of was "if only I had a CLK430 the junkyard would have gotten a 4.3L. I kept two 1 inch axle bearings I found at the accident site to keep for meditation *****. HA! In any case, this serves as a reminder to me of what not to do with my AMG. Which I am currently in love with. She's got legs for days...

2003 E46 M3 1982 308GTSi 1972 P1800 1970 Charger 500
hydroplanning
I was driving my M3 at about or below posted speed limits (55) straigth section of the highway, when I hit some layer of rain water.....in a split second I was spinning out of control and ended up in the mid divider/ditch. Luckly there weren't any trees, or posts, or concrete barrier to damage the car, or stop it suddenly. Ended up very muddy but unhurt.....definitely was caused by "bold" tires.....same as this E55. Goto watch those threads...Cheers.

I've had it about two weeks now. There are some things I plan on addressing; for instance, it was lowered, and I think to avoid scrubbing it has the 17's from a C43. It looks okay, but I just can't have that. The steering wheel was tore up but I found one cheaply enough on Ebay so that was a big sigh of relief. No one recovers these things for less than like $400! Otherwise Its a solid car and I haven't had any gremlins yet. Has a fresh Mann filter and some Motul 8100. I plan on driving it til the wheels fall off. Haha

2001 E55 AMG (sold)
I feel like there is another nice E55 out there that may suffer the same fate if the owner doesn't put some new tires on, and soon!
Check this out. I've been looking at a pretty clean '01 E55. The guy sends me about 40 photos. All looks good until I saw a photo of the rear tires. (see attached).
The car is about 700 miles from me, and I told the owner that those rears were so bad, I'd be afraid to drive it home! I'd probably find the nearest tire shop to install some new ones before driving it back home. Obviously a negotiating point

GL hopefully you can get her it's obvious the owner let the tires go. There might be a few other things neglected. In either case inspect and re-inspect and work out a good deal as the owner can't keep up with the maintenance.
