Cruise control behavior...didn't know this.
Driving on a regular TX highway last week, I noticed a "weird" behavior on the cruise control of my 00E55.
I set it to 75 mph, and just let the car drive itself. The road had twisties and hills. the car accelerated just like any other cruise control would do, when uphill trying to keep the speed at the set point or close to it. The surprise came during a downhill, when I felt the car deliberately slow down and shave off some speed? What I am not sure is how did it do it? Was it via applying brakes gently? was it via shifting down one gear (don't think so because it was very suddle and smooth). Any ways, I have never driven a car on cruise control, which would decrease the speed on a downhill to stay on a set speed. Maybe one of you experts out there can shed some ligth into this. Great car!! Love it! Cheers.

My C43 does the same thing going downhill. It applies the brakes softly to keep the registered speed. I have not gone down a steep enough incline with speed control engaged to see if the gears go down also.
