They replied and said that he doesn't think that they would work due to the difference in weight.

Is there that much difference between the 55 and the 430?

its pretty similar. The main difference would be between V6 models and V8 models.

It looks like there is only a 66 pound difference between the 2, that shouldn't make a difference for the springs, correct.
Any difference in fitment issues between the 2 models?

Not much differance at all, many C-class owners have put springs on from different engine sizes (4 cyl - 6 cyl) with no ill effects, heck I even did springs from a non- 4matic to a 4matic w211 and was really good. Go for it, price is awesome.

If he wrote you back and only said that he "thinks" it won't fit and you said it's only 66lb difference, then I don't see why you couldn't give it a shot.

I'm going to give these a shot but before I do, is there any major difference between fitment/installation for the e430 and the e55 besides the weight issue?

AMG
I hope they work out for you.

Possibly, the reason they do not have an application for the E55 is because their springs *might* not be a performance upgrade - and in fact *may* perform worse than your stock springs.

Stock AMG springs have different spring rates (stiffer) than the E430. Are the SSI springs the same stiffness as your stock E55 springs? If they are less stiff, you will notice a handling decrease.

Well, I finally installed the springs this weekend. I was only able to do the fronts because I couldn't get the rear arm bolts out to do the rears.

I left the same pads that were on the car. It lowered the front very nicely. I'll take pics hopefully today. It also rides great. Nice and crisp, no bounce. It seems like factory but firmer. I like it

Here's a pic of the size difference for the fronts

I bought the compressor tool. Makes it so easy, literally about 20 minutes.

length of springs

The picture shows a big difference in length. How did the front look? I bet you really feel like a lot lower compare to say H&R. Very nice. Can wait to see the car with the back install.

Here are some pics with my new wheels as well. The front left is the only wheel the rubs against the wheel well liner towards the front. The right wheel does not???

The wheels are Breytons 19" 8.5/9.5 running 245/45/19 and 275/35/19. Had to get a 3mm spacer for the front and and 12mm for the rear. So far so good.

The rear springs are still not intalled yet as you can see.

you're running some balloon tires. Recommended size would be 245/35/19 and 275/30/19

but anyways, how do you like the springs so far?

Did you install the rears yet? Curious to see how difficult to lower the springs in the rear as I plan on putting #1 pads in all round and keeping the oem amg springs.
