Thanks again Ausmbtech for sharing your knowledge and experience!
Do you think the M113 is as tough or trouble free as an M119?
Is the factory cooling system on the W210 e55 adequate for Aus heat? Any cooling mods that you are doing over there?

The M113 is very reliable, can be driven very hard and they really don't seem to mind. I think it's probably a little more reliable (mechanically about the same but the electronics/wiring/sensors are better)
I've take 2 different (pre and post facelift) W210 E55's to track (circuit) days and they both love it. On a 35C/95F day to can take it round the track with the A/C on and it doesn't get above 105C engine temp, oil temps reach 115C but this is still well within operating ranges, on cooler days they won't get above 100C coolant temp......in the meantime My C43 has seen as much as 120C coolant temp under the same conditions. Cooling in certainly not an issue at speed. So basicly under full load, high rpms, high temps and the a/c on they can actually run cooler than I've seen when idling in traffic on a hot day....go figure!

Thanks again Ausmbtech- yes, I have experienced the same operating temps in those conditions with the M119 and M113, cool air flowing is key.

airflow
Have anyone tried waxing the inside of the air intake tubes with a silicone wax? The air will flow into the filters much smoother...wouldn't it?

Eeeeeeee No.. theorically Yes.. But practically NOT AT ALL hahahah. In fact, a little scratched surfaces (like ported intake head ports) works better than the "mirror polished" intake ports.. (proved in a fluidyne banks)
hard to believe i know.. but.. works better

Hey guys,
I know its an old thread but i was wondering if I could have more details about the leacky oil cooler lines.... I have a w210 e55 amg (99)and i have coolant in my oil (you can tell by the white-ish deposit on my oil cap) and i'm not sure if its the head gasket or not. There is no ticking, only on cold start for a couple of seconds and it goes away. Its not eating any oil and there is no smoke at all.
If someone has some kind of experience with this, let me know please.
