used transmission?
where's a good place to find a transmission for cheap (lol) for an E55? there's a post-facelift one that i know of (can get it for $4,700) with a salvage title that needs a tranny and i'm half-tempted to pick it up. the guy claims you can find a transmission for $700 but i have no idea where to even start looking. do any of you guys have any leads?
the car looks clean, but it's obvious from the pics it was a front end hit.
i also have the space where i live that parting it out could be an option. i'm sure i could make some money doing that. i'm more interested in buying it just so i can have one that i feel more comfortable beating on and for using on the daily commute. i could sell my truck to cover the majority of the purchase cost on it. i just don't want to get stuck buying it thinking i'll get a tranny for $700 and then end up spending thousands for one.

i think i'm going to pass on the car. i kind of want to get an MK1 GTI and would probably get bored with two E55's.
