shift lever assy
Does anyone know how this assembly works inside?
Does anyone have an old assembly they would give to me, so I could open it up and find out how it works? I haven't given up on the idea of getting paddle shifters to work on my 2002 E55. It seems to me that moving the shift lever side to side must activate some kind of switch or contact. My thought is to have the paddle switches or shift buttons on a steering wheel do the same thing and wire them in parallel with the existing shift lever assembly. Could additional wires be routed up the steering column? What do you think of this idea?
