Changed coolant then problem !
Hello to all ..
THis weekend I changed the coolant , I didnt do a complete flush only drain, got 2 1/4 Gallons from the radiator , then I wanted to do a quick flush, put in 50/50 Zerex G05 and distilled water , ran the engine 20 minutes +/- , no leaks , BUT ran the heater full blast as recommended ...air is not hot ...grant I cant remember when I used the heater ( I am in Miami FL ) so now I dont know if I did something wrong coolant change wise or my heater is not working properly. Level of coolant is holding very good, car is running good , temp on dash cluster is right above 80 and holding...I didnt drive the car just ran the engine , since I have it up on J stands for a brake job but that driving it or running the engine shouldnt be any different , correct ?
Any comments or advise are greatly appreciated. Thanks

Should be ok to run, but check the level after your first drive.
Maybe it was too warm for the heater to even come on.
The heater has two valves (duovalve) that can either stick open or closed.

yachtmaster thank you .. I had no idea that the ambient temperature can prevent the heater from coming on ..another member was kind enough to advise me of that , while another member told me to leave the cap off over night , refill if needed in the morning .. I did both...it was a bit low in the AM , topped it off ..and started the car at 6:00 AM...I guess the lowest temp one can hope for in Miami ... sure enough HOT AIR !
I plan to drive it a bit , hopefully circulate the coolant mix to use as a flush, then drain it , refill , and that should last me for a while . Not sure about the citrus flush from MB or the like I would probably do it before .
Thank you again for your help , and best regards, Max
