Front grill
Guys,
I just got new (to me) 2002 e55 and need to replace front grill. Previous owner made it exactly like on that picture
. I want to revert to original one. I checked around and found many grills, OEM and aftermarket in range from $70 till $300 (OEM). Is there a big difference between them? Any I should avoid due to fast chrome peeling?
Oh, and what is Avangarde?

Avantgarde is a trim level package in Europe. The E55 had the equivalent of the avantgarde package along with special AMG front bumper, etc. Personally, for something as important as the front grill, I would stick with OEM, new or used. Mine has held up for 10 years and 80k miles and still looks great.

Just don't get the "carbon fiber" grille, I made that mistake. The slats are not CF but rather black and grey checkered to look like carbon fiber. It doesn't look terrible but it was a let down. Either way the grilles are great quality and not that expensive. It is out of Denmark I believe but the speed of shipping is MIND BLOWING.
