2001 Mercedes E430 sport BAS and ESP lights
Hello everybody! I have BAS ESP problem on my 2001 Mercedes E430 sport. Many people complain that they have ESP BAS and ABS warnings on display. But my problem is I have only ESP and BAS warning, and ABS is absolutely fine. I have noticed that when i start the car usually I don't have the ESP and BAS light, but when car starts moving light comes up immediately. That drives me crazyyyyy!!!!
Does anybody have any idea? Thanks

It's most likely your brake light switch or your battery going bad. The odds of the module going bad are very slim. But my $ is on the brake light switch.

Ok guys I replaced the brake switch but I have the same ESP/BAS (again no ABS just ESP/BAS) .
I also found that before I start the car and press the brake pedal and keep pressing it, NO ESP/BAS error shows up, as soon as I RELEASE brake pedal ESP/BAS shows up!
Any other suggestions ????
thanks

No it is not from dealership, i got it online !
Ok what I did today was that , I took the switch out so it didn't touch the brake pedal at all, but I left the two cables connected to it , and then I pressed the pedal - no ESP/BAS , but as soon I depressed the pedal ESP/BAS came back!

Ok! I got it with help of Almighty God!!!
what I did: I followed armaniE55's advise and checked the brake pedal system. I opened the hood and unplugged two cables that were attached to brake booster, then I plugged them back. Then I sat in the car and prayed to God. Started engine and all gone, clear screen.
No more ESP/BAS!!!!!!!!!
thanks a lot armaniE55!!!!!!!!!!!!

My apologies for resurrecting a dead thread, but...
The ABS and ESP/BAS lights came on in our '02 E320 the other day. They shut off for a while, then yesterday my wife came home and told me they were back on. I have replaced the brake light switch and they are still on. Doing the "steering wheel" reset when the car is cold turns off the warning lights... for five minutes. The brake lights and cruise control still function; traction control and ABS do not.
Any ideas?

All the fuses are okay. I don't know where the relay is, so I haven't checked it. Also I have not had the car in for a diagnostic check; the only scan tool I have is an OBDII scanner and that told me nothing regarding the systems in question.

^+1^,
i think in W210 ESP relay comes black or yellow in fuse box #: "002 542 14 19" or "002 542 74 19",,
if all 3 brake lights & ESP relay are fine, need to check the lateral acceleration sensor, sometimes it's culprit the ESP/BAS circuit..!
