I have a light malfunction warning that I finally traced but I don't know what the name of the freaking light is! I can't find it listed in the manual.
Can someone please tell me what light this is?
Car is a 2000 E55. US version.
Lights with the problem are the lights to the inside of the headlights (they are not the headlights or the turn signals that are contained in the headlights). They contain the high beams but the lights that are out are not the high beams, they are the lights that come on when you turn the headlights on.
What do you call these lights, what type of bulb do they take, and when trying to replace them, you can make sure you are not replacing the high beam bulb by accident?
I been on Google for an hour trying to find a diagram or picture that tells what these lights are called.
Thanks!
Mike

Try doing a search for "city lights" and see if anything comes up.

The EPC refers to the bulb as the "clearance light" and it is 12V 6W

Is this the bulb you are inquiring about?

Is this the bulb you are inquiring about?
It's the clearance light (what the heck does that mean?)
I went to the dealer and got 2 for $13. It's a little high, but I just want to get rid of the annoying malfunction indicator.
Mercedes p/n: N000000 000172
OSRAM 64132L is what I can see on the dealer part.
Thanks for everyone's help!
