thinking of trading in for w211 e55, worth it?
Just having some thoughts about trading in for 03 e55 with 98,000mi
not sure yet since I put so much money into my car already and replaced pretty much everything , so just kicking the idea around
dealer wants 10k plus my car, maybe il talk him down to 8k
w211 will need new brakes soon, valve covers leaking some, clean title, ball joint boots are torn,
what else should I watch out for on the w211?
good deal or no?

You can still sell your W210 for $10k to $12k depend on condition. Plus, W211 at 98K you will need a lot of work to be done ! you might need to invest $2K soon for repairs.......

Yeah....you can sell your car anywhere nowadays. If you have the original rims, I would put them back and sell the aftermarket wheels separate. you will get more money if you sell it with the oem wheels. My 2 cents...

Man I be thinking like you too but before I got my ride was checkin out some W211's and was about to pull the plug and go into payments on it . Seen bunch of posts about ppl and their problems and such and didnt want to deal with a out of warrenty montser . Then I came across my W210 01 blk/blk 100k miles $10,5 drove 350 miles pulled out 8 grand cash and thats all she wrote
Had my ride 2 yrs now , driven it everyday since I've owned it on nothing but Mobil1 oil and Mobil 1 premium gas . changed a CPS sensor the first week and springs last summer nothing else has been touched on my car by a mechanic other then that in 2 years . Put close to 40K miles and now I'm hittin 140K . Prob spent more on oil changes and gasoline then the cost of springs and CPS sensor over last 2 years . Prob have about $4K in BS stuff that Ive bought for it rims, kickers, stuff like that .
now some rust spots are startin to show but on black they hide better then other colors and if I hadnt spent over $2K on RC cars and BS since Xmas this car would be in to fix the paint .
Now I'm thinkin just flip it and power up to a 211 but been so good to me cant just let her go like that no payments , no uncalled for expenses no problems just gogogo
goodluck though its hard not to want to do it trust me lol

If you really want W211 sell the W210 via Craiglist, Ebay, autotrader. It will cost maybe $80 in autotrader. But i am sure you will get out with more $$$. W211 try to avoid 03. I have 06 for 3 years now, only oil change and water pump changed. The basic maintenance is the same, as fact the brake jobs in W211 is cheaper than W210. Paid $700 W210 and $400 for W211. The only downside for W211 is airmatic suspension which now $450 per side so $900 + labor with Arnott part lifetime warranty. And YES, its much faster compare. I drive both, one each day and its much faster and W211 is a real bad boy. Easier to Mod in the future and the mod really give you the money and power. My car is at 540hp at crank now just need to change tires again.....
