FS: E55 #1 Spring Pads

Hey guys. I sold the E55 a few weeks ago. I bought #1 spring pads forever ago, it seems, but never spent the money to install them. So they are still in the factory bags that I got from the dealer.

I was thinking $20+ shipping.

You can text me or pm me..Either one will get to my phone

Price is right on... You sold the beast huh... 2nd time around. Was it a maintenance issue and if you don't mind how much did you sell her for? miles? I'm still on the fence as to selling mine end of year or keeping her and adding to the Stable

*did you part her out?

Thank you, I was hoping it was a decent price. I don't need to make a fortune..

Oh boy, where to start...I'm disappointed in the way I got rid of it. It was in a hurry, and all parts were left on it. It was gonna cost me too much to have them removed, and then try to get anything from them, I decided it wasn't worth it.

With that said, I sold it to a Dodge dealer in Eugene, OR. They gave me 9500 for it which paid it off. So ultimately I did good not having negative equity. it had 86K miles on it, and it was mint as far as mechanically. Paint was good, but not perfect. Maintenance was fine with it. I did run into a lot, but since it was my second one I was used to it and it didn't effect me much.

I'm very sad to see it go..this being my second one was just as hard as the first....But I have a 1 owner 2006 S55 coming this week, so I'm sure I'll forget everything. It's coming from Houston, so it's taking it's sweet time

If you can keep it and get another car, then I would def do that. If I could have done that I would have, but I already have a second/project car in the garage.

You made a great deal. Don't look back you will be one happy camper in that 06 S55 just make sure to opt for a warranty my 04 S500 was pushing 5k a year in maintenance luckily I purchased a CPO. I'm still battling if I want to keep the E55 and add the CLS55. I love, love this car. My wife says just sell it lol not that easy...

GL and stick around

Yea, I'll always stick around here, seems most like home. Plus I have a bit to offer since I've done a lot with these cars.

A CLS would be nice, and you've done so much with yours. I'd say that if you do sell it make sure it goes to someone here or someone that will appreciate it.

Yea I hear ya on that. I've read quite a bit about them and the ABC. Not thrilled to have to deal with it. Luckily I don't have to drive much so maybe that will cut back potential problems ..one can hope

Still got the pads? Any idea how far they will drop the car? Half inch? More/less? Also, from what I understand, it should only take a shop about 30-45 minutes to do all of them if they have a lift and spring compressor. Does that sound about right? I'll PM you as well.

Boy oh Boy.. that S55 looks like a BEAST! Going off topic.. what are the driving impressions? Compared to the E55? I owned a S500 04 prior to the E55 once the warranty was out. I dropped it like a heartbeat the maintenance on thing was ridic. I think it was like 8k year but covered under MB.

How many miles / price? If you don't mind me asking. I'm looking at a S55 or CLS55 end of year and I'll have to sell my E55 just to many cars and only one garage.

86,000 miles for 9,500? I would have given you $10,500 at least, no questions. Not to mention the stuff on it. Mines got 144,000 and runs like new but jeez, that's almost half the miles. In LA too, woulda come up in a heartbeat.

My friend, who is a MB mechanic, just swapped my stock springs and pads back on my car last night (it rides soooooo much nicer now). It took him 30 minutes to do the rears and a little over an hour to do the fronts. He managed to do it without dropping the front control arms which saved some time. I don't see it happening in 30-45 minutes. He had a spring compressor and a lift, plus it wasn't his first time doing this.

I don't know how much just the pads lower the car since when I had them put on he did springs at the same time.

Yes, if you have spring compressors it shouldn't be more then an hour job...but not every shop has the compressors

Thanks Armani This car is simply amazing...leaps and bounds better then the W210 E55, and it pains me to say that. This S55 is at least 500-600 pounds heavier (my E55 tipped the scale at 3600lbs) but with the ABC suspension it handles better in my opinion. Plus the dynamic seats are far superior to anything I've sat in. They push you into the seat so you never feel like you are being thrown around.

I could go on and on. If you want more info about the S55 PM me

There is just under 82K miles on it and I got it for $24.5. and so far I am very happy. I'm looking into lowering it soon..I can't wait for all this potential I have in my driveway.

Yup! Worth every penny of $12K, but no one wanted it...fools...oh well I got enough to pay it off, and was able to talk this dealer with my S55 down a few thousand so I'm more than happy

It's not an hour job to do all 4 pads. I've watched my friend do it twice to my car and don't see how it couldn't be done any quicker. I'd plan on at least an hour and a half to have it done. If they drop the front control arms it will take considerably longer.
