CAT scare

On my last visit to my indy, I was informed that one of my catalytic converters was kaput. Here in CA that equates to $$$$$$$$ being that MBZ has a monopoly on this $2K+ fix. On a hunch, I took my 00 E55 with 75K on the clock to my indy muffler shop for a second opinion.....a friggin' loose bracket. Cost to weld: $0; tip $20. Nonetheless, I realized that the cats will eventually fail. At what odometer reading have you folks experienced failure?

About to hit 141k. Shocks starting to feel a little mushy, but its unavoidable with these SF roads.

The day has come. My secondary cat or maybe cats just started rattling. Time to visit my favorite muffler shop.
