Good observation ! I didn't even remeber it was a cab until I re-read the article just now.
I really think BMW paid Motor Trend some advertising fees. Heck, Motor Trend picked the BMW as a winner in every damn test even though all cars were very close. What blew me away was then they awarded the gold to the M Roadster over the SLK32....

Honestly, I spend more time AND $$$ on British auto rags now. I think those guys are more objective, creative, and have less bias in their writing. I have become a bonified "jaded cynic" due to precisely what you cite in your post.

absolutely, every month i pick up a copy of Car, Evo, and sometimes BMW Car and Top Gear. i also have a subscription to Genroq (japanese mag). i've had it with MTrend, although, C&D and R&T aren't as bad.........except that C&D had the 330xi manual going 0-60 in well under 6 secs.....wtf!?
i test drove a C32 today and i have to say that car is a LOT of fun! i love my E55 but for the sheer agility i really like the C32. i need to get my @ss in a m3 to test it out and compare to the C32, time to go search the c-class board....

either car would be a great choice. personally, i'd opt for e55. all the reasons mentioned b4, plus, it's 10k cheaper than clk55. but...the new ones are due in 2004, now...what was wrong with having one of the world's fastest suv in the ml55 (with red calipers)??
