Let me take a look around and get back to you. Myself, I have one of the MB laptops with DAS, WIS, and Xentry. Works great but will set you back $1500 (if you're lucky). Let me find a cheaper alternative for you.

well, just got back from vacation and i was able to order the cam and crank sensors( still havent recieved them), took the car for a ride anyway and got stuck @ costco , at that point after about a half hour of trying to get it started , it finally started only this time with the check engine light, read the codes and they were PO173 & PO170 this is usually the maf and o2 sensors no? should i get a new maf too?

This is what you'll need to follow to do the crank sensor:
http://www.benzworld.org/forums/r129...on-sensor.html
Very easy. Took me less than 10 minutes.
For the cam sensor, it's on the front of the passenger side head facing the radiator. Took me less than a two minutes to find and replace.
I am not sure about the codes. I'll ask one of my tech's.
You (probably) don't need to buy a MAF, just follow the attached PDF guide

Somehow I don't see how this is related to the fuel filter...
Normally, after the install, the car should take a little longer to start until it builds back up the pressure, but not after that. If you did the install correctly and used an OEM or similar fuel filter I don't see what could've gone wrong. I believe if you didn't install it correctly the car wouldn't start at all. Or if somehow the car takes air into the system, but then the CEL would be triggered for a large vacuum leak...
If you think your problem is fuel delivery related I would check my fuel pump...and by that I mean to do a fuel pressure test using a fuel pressure gauge. There is a possibility that the fuel filter you had before was somewhat clogged and now that you've changed it,the gas flow has improved dramatically and also the pressure in the system has changed. The car can run rough because of this issue if your fuel pump pressure is too weak OR if it's too strong.
Good luck!
