Block heater available?

Hello. I moved to North Dakota this year and was wondering if anyone knows if a MB block heater can be installed on our E55's? I've read they come standard on most Canadian MB's but don't know where they are installed or what part would be used. Anyway, if anyone has any info I'd appreciate it. I'd rather go with a MB setup rather than an aftermarket heating element in the coolant line. Thanks.

I'm glad I live somewhere that I don't need something like that.

You may want to post this in the regular W210 Forum. A few Guru's over there.

Or post at the diesel section. I use to have a block heater in my dad's 300TD. There is a bolt on the side of the engine block on the diesel where you can unbolt and bolt on the heater filement in place and run the wire thru the front bottom bumper opening with the socket. I remember when it was super cold out...my dad would plug the heater in on the side of the garage and let the engine run all night. There is a button on the dash where you can turn the engine idle down to very low and it just purrrrr all night. Of course back then diesel is only $1.25 per gallon.

Hey Johnny,

Wassup man. Unfortunately, I'll be on vacation this coming week and next, will be heading down to Hotlanta and to Fort Lauradale, visiting relatives and friends before the summer is over. Yeah....summer is winding down (feeling the cool nights this few days). I would love to meet up and check out your ride....maybe some other time but soon

Did anyone ever figure this out? I have a zerostart block heater purchased that is for a W210 E55 w/ M113 engine, but I'm not sure where in the block it is to be installed. Anyone know?
