Please advise me! eisenmann muffler or secondary cat delete?
Hello mates,
I can't decide, should I install eisenmann race exhaust or do a secondary cat delete ( I already have the resonator removed )
I'M Not AFTER ANY PERFORMANCE GAINS, JUST LOOKING FOR THE SOUND.
I know that $1900 is A Lot for just a muffler.
Cheers.

Hey Fabio,
What if I keep it dual straight ?
I know there are performance gains for the x-pipe.
But I want to keep the V8 Pulses loud and clear, and I'm afraid the x-pipe will make the sound constant.
Thanks

I've got kleemann headers + no primary cats + 300 cell secondary cats + eisenmann race and. I added a 3" resonator to take it down a notch.
I might add an even quieter resonator to bring it down another step.
All FYI.

straights= raspy + drone
X-pipe= more controlled sound
( I'm looking for sound improvement )
AMG probably didn't install a crossover for a reason.
Thank you.

Go with the x-pipe. It gives it a more balance and nicer sound and believe me, over time, you will definitely hear the V8 sound that you are after with every step of the gas pedal.

Jeez !!! I got a quote of 300 CAD $+ TAX (14%) just for removing the 2nd cats. Labour only, no parts
.
I searched high & low to find a shop that's willing to touch the cats.
The shop is located in Toronto , aprox 500 Km from Ottawa.
Thanks people ! when I do the mod, I'll share my experience.

IMHO the resonator is what cancels the drone. I only removed the secondary cats and left everything else in. The sound improved quite a bit all around rpm and at full throttle, high rpm. No drone. Messing with the mufflers/resonator is a recipe for drone. Not sure what my next step is. Perhaps long tube headers. A shop that is comfortable taking out those secondaries shouldn't charge you more and $100 and take less than an hour.

The effect of removing the resonator is drone, too much getto eh?
Happily however, the car also growls and gurgles LOUD, which is good.
Headers are the best mod performance/sound wise, but the hassle of the install is too much IMO. Every time I ask exhaust/muffler shops for 2nd cat delete, I see the fear of god in their faces!

If you want to go the cheaper route, also don't have the muffler shop to worry about, (not sure how much you can save) you can unbolt the secondary cats yourself, not that hard, I did it, and cut the metal ends and weld them to an X-pipe and put them back on the car, where the 2nd cats were....or bring the ends to a machine shop and have them weld them to the x-pipe and you bolt them back to the car....
