However, It's quiet expensive and not worth it. Most people get the W221 (for example) trunk emblem and attach it to the cover.

Star emblem PN A 211 758 00 58 ($10.74)
Drill with #20 drill bit (the back stems on the star is snug fit)

I decided did not to use the paper trace method to create a template for drilling the engine cover. There is too much chance for error in this method.
Instead, I used a direct transfer method which was to put white-out liquid on the ends of the star mounting pins and then press the star onto the cover, leaving the drill points clearly marked.
Used 5/32" drill bit.
Job done!
