Intro with pix
Thought I'd introduce myself. I just picked up this 2000 e55 from California for $6k with 141,000 miles. I had been looking for a clean w210 for a number of months, and was ready when this car came up.
I'm the third owner. Previous owner supposedly was on the board of the Mercedes Owners Car Club and kept the car in excellent shape.
I'm in Colorado. I'm new here as well and looking for a club/auto group to learn about my new car and get advice, trips and conversation.

Welcome!
What a beauty! I looked for months for a white car and was unable to find one in good shape.
Did you do the modifications or the previous owners? It looks lowered and I can see the headlights.

No mods that I know of. I don't believe it was lowered ever, but the PO did upgrade the headlights recently to the Xeon units.
Personally I love the white too. Very clean looking. I actually almost bought a Silver car out of Ohio, but as soon as I saw this one listed back on Ebay I jumped, even though it has higher mileage.
As far as mods go. I'm looking to replace the stereo. I had a system in my old car that was totally awesome and the system in the E55 is....well.... off. I'm sure it was awesome when new, but the original deck was replaced with an older unit (both Mercedes decks) and its just not cutting the mustard. My last project car had some decent Kicker speakers and a Sony Deck that would compliment the interior well without looking too 'out of place' like many of the replacement decks do.

Stereo is on my long list as well. I have the COMAND, but would like something more modern.

Welcome to the Fam! Lot's of knowledgeable guys on here that can help you keep the cost doing if your a DYI kinda guy. I never was till I bought my E55- Do you know if the headlights have projectors? Was just curious. But boy that's clean.....

I actually offered on that car on ebay. I've always wanted a white E55 but I would be going up in mileage for a change in color. The last clean couple I have seen was one in CO a few years back and one out of San Antonio that was priced on the moon.

The first time this car was on ebay the winning bid was $4600, its reserve was 5800. As soon as it came back up I offered 6, while the bids were still in the 3s. By the time bids were 5100, the car was being picked up by my father-in-law. I was extremely pleased to get it for so little.
The mod bug hopefully wont hit for a while. We are Dave Ramsey plan folks and my wife is back in school, so funds are pretty tight. That said, I'm looking to swap the stereo and do the exhaust tweeks outlined in the recent thread.

Had the car come with the navigation and been a double din, I could see using that unit. The price seems very reasonable. Being a creature of habbit, I would have go with the Kenwood unit I have in our van. It does everything you listed, plays videos from my iPod etc..

That's a good looking HU, but I wouldn't like it covering my climate controls.
