I bought this 2001 E55 beauty last October. I haven't done much to the car other than maintenance and a couple little replacements to make it my taste such as door pins, blacked out bottom of rear bumper and LED courtesy lights. It's too low for my liking so my next project is to make it sit on H&R springs with Koni FSD's and #1s or #2 pads (depending on fitment gap) and paint the wheels satin black. Any suggestions and guidelines are welcome. Not the best pics. Will post pics of interior after I clean up my 2 year old's mess 😂

I like the ride. Its not much different from stock just a little stiffer over bumps. I have not pushed it hard around corners yet. I am on #3 pads all around. I want to get some #1 pads for the front because its higher than the rear. If anyone has some they don't want please let me know.

I've considered that but the suspension is too loose around corners. I want to stiffen it up. I had H&R's on my 99 CLK430 and I hit corners at 60+ mph with minimal body roll. And plus it squats when I launch and rubs the **** outta my quarter panels 👎🏽

I've run the Euro's and I prefer my current set up: Vogtland springs with Koni adjustables on #1 pads in front, #2 in rear. I considered #1's in the rear, but glad I didn't, I'm satisfied with the ride height now that everything has settled. By the way, Vogtlands are cheaper than the Euro's and I think they're much better suited for my aggressive driving style.

My wheels are from a w211 eclass, I am running these until I get my monoblocks refinished.
I really like your wheels if you paint the faces black and leave the lips polished it will look good. You could also black out your grill to tie it all together.

I'm running vogtlands, stock shocks with #3 pads all around only cost about $200 for the springs on ebay.

I really like these wheels too. I was thinking something similar but give the lip a brush finish. I did it to a silver 69 Camaro and it looks awesome. Dom did a great job on the spacing and fitment but I want to raise it and aim for a more aggressive/muscle car look. They are Euro muscle cars anyway

I'd give the ride quality a 10, comparing them to stock, and I am on the softest setting. I keep telling myself I need to try the other settings out, but I'm cool the way they are.

Mind giving me a link or the part # to those Vogtlands?

no, not more than one would expect. It might be time to change out your stock shocks Also, I would imagine your 211 wheels are 19's? Not that it would make that much of a difference, but I could see a bit more camber in the rear that would seem more than it should be under load, and especially if your shocks are worn. You're running #3 pads though, right? How much clearance do you have between your tire and fender?

Ive seen ddb's with I think #3 pads lowered on Vogtlands. I have thought about going #2 front and #1 rears but after reading what you said I may do #2 around. Seems like everyone is slightly different and depends on their shock health. Odd how ilest's drop is different with the front so high.
Currently on mine without mods, it seems like my front is a little down and my butt is in the air and I have #3s. I still plan to do FSD and Vogtland when I get around to it.

Do you have a side profile shot of your car? Are you on 19's?

Here is a side shot of mine in day light. My wheels are 18s. My rear shocks are KYB Gas-a-just and the fronts are stock. I double checked and the rear pads are actually #2 and the front is #3. As far as I know shocks should not affect ride height.
The rear wheels are 18 x 8.5 ET38 and I am running a 12mm spacer so they sit closer to the fender than stock but dont rub.
