Oil pan leaking

Hi guys,

Just bought a 2002 Silver E55, will post pix later. (Sold my Black 2000 6 months ago but with regret). This one has oil leaking and my mechanic told me it's the Oil pan (upper one). He told me it's more complicated job than the lower oil pan so cost $400 to do. Is this sound right ?

Thanks

Yeah, agree you, it's more headache to get it-off,

it may need to remove the Engine to re-seal it, cause no gasket there, just need to use hi-temp. silicone..|!|

Thanks for the reply. My mechanic told me it's a lot time consuming job.

My mechanic just called and saying not easy job. It will be more than $400 for sure. It needs to drop the front sub frame... and a lot more parts need to be removed in order to remove the pan. Anybody here done the Upper oil pan ? thanks !
