Should I buy this w210 e55 AMG
Hey guys so a 2000 w210 e55 fell into my lap for $1800. The car has a eurocharged ECU tune and a x pipe installed, it has 119k on the clock and pretty good maintainence history. The car does need some work though,It has some issues. Front and rear bumper are cracked. Also it has right rear quarter panel damage. (damage happened parking.
Noise coming from cv join in rear suspension
Salvaged Title (From theft not accident)
Needs new inner tie rods. This is the maintenance, he also said the motor mounts have been replaced within 2 years and he has only dricen the car 8k miles in 2 years,
Low Miles 120k
Runs like a champ. (Meticulously maintained before it was stolen)
X out exhaust and second cat delete.
New H&r sport springs and bilstein sports shocks
New Rear Bearings
New rear upper control arms.
New front outer tie rods.
New brake Rotors <20k miles
New brake Pads <20k miles
New Pirelli rear tires 275 17 35 tires
2004 sl55amg AMG rims (I removed original Monoblocks) Rims are mint. I am willing to sell these separately.
Recently serviced transmission <5000 miles
I don't know how to put pics but it would be great if you pm me so I could send you some and really get some help from you guys,
Thabks

With the salvage title, so long as you dont expect anything back from it in terms of money value, I'd buy it for $1800. You'll spend more in bodywork to make it closer to mint though.
Not sure I have ever heard of a W210 AMG being stolen before? I wonder how that happened?

2007 SL55 AMG
It's a little more than just a few issues. I saw it on craigslist. FYI it has a full E320 interior and the E55 front bumper replacements are really hard to find. If you're handy and you don't mind putting in the work, then go for it.

Do you think I could get it fixed for under 3500 I don't wanna spend more than 5300 total?

+100 I just look closely the leather seat, they are not E55 leather seat. They look just like regular W210. The stealing wheel looks like E55 but those seats are definitely not. Front and Rear. Not worth it ! Be patient and you will find the right one.

if you just want the AMG drivetrain it might be worth it. But it will take some money to get it looking right and prolly more than $3500 unless you take your time do most of the work yourself and find the parts on ebay or at a junk yard.
If you buy that one and this one you could put together one nice car using parts from each.

I will not buy it. The price on these cars are cheap enough, you don't have to go that low and get something like that unless you get it for parts. If you have a passion to put it back together like your hobby to restore cars (still the price of these cars are very low) maybe go for it.

Also, he says he gets 26mpg at 75 mph on the highway? That's funny![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)
Considering what the interior looks like, I would guess this guys is trying to pass off an e320 as an E55.
Stay Away.

Offer him 1000 cash, slap on e320 badges/bumpers/wheels(and race unsuspecting e430's), drive it like you stole it until the motor or trans blows.
Few things funner than a cheap, comfy, fast beater.

you didn't mention the engine; is it an AMG? That is the first hint. Stay away from Salvage if possible...you going to wind up spending $5,000 + bringing it up to par...did you run a car fax? Your call!! jerryjerry

I think I just brought this car
Hi there,
I think I just purchased this car.
It will be a parts car for my E320 wagon to E55 wagon conversion.
