2000 E55 O2

New guy sez HELP!! I love LOVE (65 year old car guy--and this is my favorite ever) -- anyway, I love my 2000 E55 and it has been "0" trouble (till now). Check engine light (and it's a bright one) sez O2 problem. Runs fine. Somehow one of O2 sensors came unplugged (it's plugged back in now). Light came back on after reset. Is this something I can reasonably do? The shop I tried most recently wants $700 for 2 installed-- seems excessive??? Pretty excited at the prospect of getting advice from folks here that don't want my money (what little of it there is). Thanks in advance for any help.

W210 E55
Assuming your connectors are fine, that is a rip-off price. Those O2 sensors are available at any parts shop. They aren't very expensive. Any independent shop can get those in very quickly.
