6sp,
I messaged them on FB. After removing my diff and sending them the measurements they wanted they said it's something I could install. I should have it by Friday. They also gave me a discount and free shipping. Total cost was 459
IanB,
I think we may disagree on your statement. The Kleeman from what I read operates the same as Phantom Grip. At 6 times the price I don't think it's a case of you get what you pay for but more of you get a product with the name of a big Mercedes tuner attached to it for for an inflated price.
I think the Quaife is superior but not really needed in my case so need to spend 3 times more.
Just wondering if you have any experience with any of these products? I personally never owned anything Kleeman but I have had a Quaife in 2 cars and a Phantom grip in 1.
I'll post up pics once I receive the unit. Also waiting on new bearings and seals from Mercedes.

have you searched the forums for info? There's a couple threads where guys have cracked cases and other major damage over time. Crossfire.com also has documented some damage.

Actually I have, and most of the feed back is positive. I mostly read about the w210's that have tried one. Ive read nothing to shy me away and since I had good luck in the past i figured why not. Those that have had a problem do you know if they disassembled the diff to see the cause? It easy to point fingers and not look for the real problem.

I only have experience with PG in a FWD platform years ago, no experience with a Quaife or other true LSD in a 2wd platform. Lots of experience with LSD's in AWD applications.
It sounds like you know what you're looking to achieve, and I'm interested in seeing the results.

If you're looking for JUST straight line performance, the PG might be fine for you. I drive my S210 in the winter nearly half the year, and the PG would provide me with essentially a welded rear diff, and I can see myself fighting to keep it out of the ditch. If you're looking for increased grip in the corners, a true LSD will be what you want.

The car is a daily driver but when the weather gets bad it sits in the garage. i've had it for 10 plus years and 230k on her now. im just looking to have some fun with her and im either going to add a bottle or supercharge her. When the motor blows if it does it will be an LS swap
Ianb,
What awd cars have you played with? I was into DSM's for a long time just don't have time anymore.

Took the diff apart tonight just to get a look at how this piece is going to fit and bam I see a problem. There isn't enough room to get the clips in when the unit is installed and you remove the small bars that hold it together to get it in. After some thinking I guess I could install the PG, not pull the clips, install in the pumpkin, install the axles and c-clips, then remove the clips. After some test fitting a few more pieces I fount the c-clips don't fit in the hole. I'm sure if you missed this that after some time it would cause the rear diff to come apart. I'll be calling them in the AM to see if they have different clips or if I can open up the hole some. I've attached a pic of the clip and the hole it should sit in.

Spoke with the engineer at PG and we have a game play. I need to located a few parts, take some measurements and I'll get back with my findings.

Good news figured out the axle clip situation and the diff is back together.
After speaking with the engineer from PG we thought it would be best to change the factory C-clip to the spring clip style normally found on FWD vehicles.
After locating a few clips and doing some test fitting it works great. I also beveled the edges of the gear so the clips would pull in and out. I just need to install some new diff mounts and install the diff. Looking forward to seeing how she does burnouts and how well the PG works. Here is a few pics.

First ride was a success. Put about 100 miles on her last night and this morning. Can't even tell anything has changes. Just basic driving since I had my son with me both times. Hopefully tomorrow I can get away and do some spirited driving
