Stephens,
Always thought your trap speed was way low compared to your times. Easily should be 120 MPH trap with the times your posting. Let us know when all is fixed how much better-I'm sure you will!!

That pump problem seems to be a common issue and I would advise anyone with a supercharged V8 engine that seems to have lost power to get it checked out.

I am going to try an even biggr pulley. Currently I am seeing 1bar. This a a serious power increase for only 2psi increase in pressure, so I will only be shooting for an extra 0.5psi. I know I have mentioned this before, but you didn't respond, have you asked about going to a bit more boost? This seems to be the logical path to increased power with minimal cost and risk, given the small increases.

I believe I am running one bar or just slightly more ( 1 bar= 14.7 psi?). I believe RENNtech is somewhat conservative with the boost because of past experience. Everyone agrees about one thing, the intercooler efficiency is the limiting factor. Anyway I think I have the track's permission to run quicker if I run alone and tomorrow will be the test! I am debating whether to put on G-force drag radials or run my street tires again. It would be nice to come off the line with full throttle! I will keep you posted.

The W211 E55 have an upgraded steel reinforced diff carrier to my understanding. has yours been upgraded?
I wonder how the standard W210 diff will cope with all this power, especially if you starting launching harder.

My differential carrier has not been upgraded but I had the drivetrain inspected while it was at RENNtech and upgraded axle bearings. I went to the track last night and for some reason could not improve on my 60 ft. time with my G-force drag radials. Only made four passes due to crowded conditions. Best run was 11.912 @ 121.91 MPH with a 1.941 60 ft. time. I believe the humidity was a little higher than before. Back to my street tires until fall!

Interesting, I wonder if for some bizarre reason, the 2.65 axle ratio is better suited to the torque curve of the cars.
Treynors 60ft times are 1.6-1.8 with drag radials and no traction problems, mine are consistent flat 1.8's on Pilot Sports and no real traction problems.

Interestingly I have achieved 1.835 second 60' time on my Bridgestone RE050's but have unable to do as well with the drag radials. I may just need to practice and hone my technique.

Interesting - great times, James! The S600 launches *much* harder on the drag radials, because they don't spin. The midrange torque from the turbos just annihilates the stock tires in a way that a S/C would not, but it also means really fast 0-30 acceleration.
If I had to guess, you may be faster on street tires because they allow wheelspin and your car gets into its powerband more quickly. The drag radials don't spin at all.
Your car's definitely making slightly more power-to-weight than my S, to judge from your 1/8th and 1/4 MPH. It would be a good race if we could ever meet

If I ever find myself going that way (California) I will be sure to PM you so we might set something up. It would be fun if we could find a track to let us run! I have to run by myself "here" or keep it over 11.999!!

Sorry for setting the bar so high but maybe you will be inspired to climb to greater heights. Hey, how about some times for that Gallardo? Thanks again and best of luck with your W211!

Unfortunately I will have to take your crown. I ran an 11.79 last night, with pathetic 265 rear tyres. Driving the car on the street it was spinning when hitting it hard in third, so decided it was time to change the tyres. Turned out that I was almost down to the canvas in some spots. Unfortunately the only reasonable tyre available was a Michelin Pilot Cup in 265/30/19, so traction was a real challenge.
The first run was a 12.3 at 120mph, but no traction, again.....
On the second run I did a BIG burnout and fried the tyres. Success, traction wasn't great, but I went from a 2.2sec 60ft down to a 1.9 and the 11.8sec run. After that it started drizzling and the meeting was cancelled. I'm confident of a mid 11 with some decent rubber on the car.

Wow - sweet run, and on real street tires no less! Very very nice!!
Now, the details: what was your trap speed, what were the weather conditions (pressure / temp), and what mods do you have on the car?

Conditions were 50 degrees F, not sure about the barometric pressure.
Time was a 11.79 @ 119.55, I don't have the timeslip here for the exact details of the run.
The car only has boost upgrade to 14.7psi, upgraded SC cooling system, headers and remapped ECU.
I was running with a 100% full fuel tank, to help with traction, so the car weighed in at over 4200lbs with driver!
Interestingly I have discovered that the SC motor is not overly sensitive to ambient temperature, as even with rediculously cold external conditions, the car seems to have a minimum air intake temperature (AIT) of around 80 degrees F, which rises to an average of 100 degrees over the course of a run. This average temp does not change much, even if the ambient temp has risen to 77 degrees F. (part of my AIT research)
Given this knowledge, I can't understand how a standard car can do an 11 even with BFG drag TA's, irrespective of the temps.
Before headers were installed, my car was dynoing 460rwhp and doing an 11.98 at 115mph on worn Pilot Sports. Are the tracks these guys are running on lower than sea level? My track is at 200metres, maybe the mph calibration is out?
A friend drove my S600 and got a 12.59 at 111mph. His 60ft was over 2 seconds, so with better technique it is probably good for a 12.2-12.3.
The S600's over here are all LWB, only the S55 has the short wheel base, sothere is a lot of weight to be moved. Hopefully we will re-map the ECU on Monday.

All brands are available, it is a matter of getting sizes to suit. For example Michelin Aust does not stock the PS2 in a 285/30/19.
