2002 E55 AMG Build Thread + Rally Progress
54 plus service records on the carfax and the seller literally had every single actual maint and repair receipt, and everything that the car came with new including the window sticker, extra keys manual etc. It's been exclusively dealer maintained and the previous owner continued that, as he worked at the dealership where the original owner bought and maintained the vehicle.
Feeling very lucky. Will be inspecting it, adding a nice custom exhaust (secondary removal, resonator delete, x-pipe, 2.5 back to stock mufflers current plan- if anyone is selling a complete setup I'm am ears
) and a few other things to maintain the oem+ Feel and then Rallying it from Chicago to Nashville. Hence a few WTB threads I created here, if you are aware of any nice performance + parts feel free to send em our way. Thanks in advance for the warm welcome!

The plan is to go euro on everything where possible and have a nice edm+ feel. Already have a playbook lined up, the only variable at the moment is where to source a euro tune to accommodate our free flowing exhaust; following the recipe here of secondary delete, proper x-pipe in that location, and removal of resonators with all new 2.5 inch piping upstream and downstream. Would like a nice euro muffler but after researching here and Benzworld, seems the stock muffler holds up. I typically do 2.75 inch piping but not sure the 5.4 can flow that much Cfm without forced induction which is not in the cards, so 2.5 should probably do!
Two questions re tune and manifolds:
1. Anyone know if the euro e55 had a different header or was it the same as stateside?
2. Anyone know if eurocharged tune is bacially the euro tune specs? Heard vivid racing has one but don't reallywant to deviate from the amg euro approved tune as we want to keep it original where possible given the current clean example.

Any idea how challenging the install is on the shorty headers by Kleeman (looks like those are the most reasonable in terms of value, fitment, and performance) for a handy German mechanic? I'm leaning that way if we do it.
Alternatively there is the full length, but that looks like even more work and would only entertain it if we need to do other work in around that area and similar service position, which we hope not to by all means (<- knocks on wood).

Parts and maint plan finalized. Only two outstanding (optional+) items to identify are:
1. high flow muffler
2. euro tune
3. E/SL55k intake air box or Pre-owned Renntech air box.
If anyone is parting out, or knows someone selling please PM me.
Thanks all! Happy AMG motoring this weekend!

The following items have been purchased with the help of many forum members, either directly via threads and PMs, or indirectly through the good research / discussions documented in the past. Many Kudos to MBWORLD and specifically the knowledgeable w210 E55 members:
1. Koni Yellow Adjustables (Thanks Benserve88! And Kudos to OOGsAggie for the referral) - in transit
2. H&R Springs - in transit
3. Spring Pads - in transit
4. Euro Front Plate Mount - arrived
5. Fresh suspension bushings - in transit
Still on the hunt for a nice euro / higher-end muffler to complete the custom exhaust. As well as a sportier steering wheel to complete the interior. Ideally Brabus, Kleeman, Renntech, but even sport option OEM Wheel (airbag and controls work and not required) is what we are mad searching for. Let us know if you are aware of any for sale, or have one you are willing to let go.
Would, Also considering some nice brabus or similar wheels. We are weighing the option of just buying a set like this to give a bit more euro flash as well as more rubber :-p

Just in. Bushings. The plan is to install the Koni Yellows, H&R springs, and the attached bushings next week.
Pictures to follow shortly thereafter. Excited to tighten things up just a bit, and also reap the benefits of a euro-like ride, and handling characteristics; not to mention a much nicer ride height without unnecessary wheel gap.

prefer to take care about any bad replacement parts first, then thinking about performance,,
you can go with "ECU-TCU tune/55K airbox/Kleemann cams & headers/LSD diff."..

-;ZAYED;-

I hear you on the 55k air box good point, as mentioned above too! Ecu-Tcu I'm down with if I can find a good one, if it makes a difference, any recommendations?. Headers on fence if in and around the service area will drop them on

As you say, if broken will upgrade if feasible, otherwise staying stock happy, going down slope but controlled (at least I tell myself that).
and everything ells original thats how i roll

If you can guarantee his Engine, then we can consider that list as [[--WASTE OF TIME--]],,
or, if you have good spare Engine, PM him to NOT worry finding one so sooooooooon..
?!?!?
?!?!

.
Koni adjustable shocks paired with H&R sport springs, mounted on number 1 spring pads in the front and number 3 spring pads in the rear. Lowering the car to 1 1/2 finger gap all the way around. Here are some pics after it has settled a bit.
We also refinished the wheels, newer steering wheel in route, replaced the throttle position sensor, 35% tint all the way around, Ecu and tranny reset, and outfitted with 2way radio communication and police scanner. Along with Fresh oil change, new brakes and tires all the way around, euro front plate mount, hard wired iPhone connection, and does great burnouts

Interesting side note, we ordered brand new suspension bushings with plans to replace them, but once we got the car up in the air the existing bushings looked perfect and fresh, additionally there is zero rust Underneath other than surface rust on the exhaust (crosses fingers that we will do a custom exhaust soon to get rid of that as well). The next owner will be verrrrrry happy ;-)
