RIP 2001 E55, need recent sales prices
My beloved 2001 E-55 has been totaled by the insurance company.
I need the communities help in establishing a fair price. As is typical they have lowballed an offer. I need recent sales prices for cherry 2001 E-55 well maintained, rust free, excellent condition cars. This is a one owner west coast car, black, mono blocks, red trimmed seats. Seen cars offered for sale from $11-$15,000 but need to document sold prices to present to insurance company. need location and vin. Please help, would like to replace my baby.

Have you checked Ebay sold listings? That's the one place I can think of where you'll get sold prices and usually a VIN. The highest one currently sold at $9,900.
$11k seems high to me for a W210 E55 and $15k is downright crazy.
I did find one on CL that seems to have sold for $10k. All the others are asking $3,500-$9,000.

Asking prices is all you're going to find, there's no way to confirm the sold price that I'm aware of for privately sold vehicles. Asking prices are the industry standard, a copy of the ad should be all that's required, there is no way they should require the VIN. Make sure to remind them only 500 of these were imported to North America per year too.
