KEY ADVISE '85 SEC Widebody / '01 E55 AMG Swapped
Background:
We have a 1985 SEC 560 AMG that has received a powertrain swap from a 2001 E55 AMG. Durning the swap, the one and only key died. The ignition is not seeing the IR from the key. Upon inspection, the key was found to be corroded on the circuit board, with no buttons working either. Battery replaced with no affect.
Before everyone sends me to the dealer, I know these keys can be generated using a device like the MBStar or Xhorse.
I'm looking for reccomendations on a locksmith or shop in florida that has a tool like this. Thanks.

I want to say that keys runs around $300 here though. That's why I never bothered to get a spare one when I had my W210. I know some dealers are way cheaper for them than others.

key problems
Guys,
I would recommend getting another old key that looks the same as the current one and get the security chip removed and moved to the other key.
