Extended Warranty for 99-00 E55?
does anyone have non-MB extended warranty for your 99-00 E55?
some third party won't provide AMG warranty..
please let me know how much is it, deductible, and company name.
Thanks!

thanks Paul.
i am considering E320 or CLK430 now realizing the fact that (unless I can find a local E55 that's reasonably priced and at great condition (STARMARKED too)):
1. a starmarked E55 would not be cheap.
2. an extended warranty for a non-starmarked E55 would be difficult to get or extremely expensive.

Try to get extended warranty from the factory (dealer), that way you avoid surprises, and it is actually not that expensive.
I got it when I got the car from the dealer and it was great when I had to use it (only once)

I got a Heritage warranty from Ted at Warranty 4 Wheels. It cost me 3200 for 3 yrs up to 100k. 0 deductible including wear and tear defects (not wear items brake pads etc).
I just had the horn, a motor mount and a rear speaker replaced with no problem. It seems like a decent program.

I dont know where you live but I found 3 or 4 SM cars in Bay area CA. Just take your time I found a 99 with a 23K miles and 70K starmark from an owner all the dealers want extra 2-5 K for a SM car. I just found that every one said pay the extra 2-3 for a 2000 + car. Get one from some one who paid for the SM when they got the car and you can get it with out the dealer. Also the dealer will only give you a 1yr 100000K you have to buy the extra yrs.

Paul:
I live in Atlanta, GA and it's quite difficult to find an E55 (even if I am browsing on ebay for E320..only 2 will show up)
I am in similar thought as you in terms of getting a SM one (preferrably 00 model) from a private owner. The dealers just could not give a reasonable price (either way when they sell cars or they buy/trade-in-value for the customer)..
I guess they have to make money but o well..I still think private is the way to go...

Forgot one thing most of the cars that you would put a non-MB extended warranty on still cost the same as a good private party
car except that you have the added cost of the extended warranty.

No you cant get a starmark from the dealer (I had hoped that would be the case) the only way to get one is through a dealer or
find a car that has one. The starmark can be transfred once but only to a private party, if the car goes through a none MB dealer the starmark is void.
I know some of the service contracts are good but they are between $3500-$6500 for the 3yr 100,000K coverage. But there are cheper ones out there if you want to take the chance? All of the MB dealers I talked with about the extended service contracts (MB will sell you one at a lower price if you factory warranty has not expired (not starmark)) came in at that price.
I wanted to get a good deal on a car with some factory warranty on it then have the owner buy the extra coverage from the dealer
at the discounted price. I got serveal quotes but in the long run I went with a starmarked car. It was just a better deal.

what your looking for is someone who got a certified car with the
3yr 100,000K warranty and has it for sale, it should be very close in price to a car with out the starmark.
