replace right tail light
Hello,
I have a 1999 E55 and I need to replace the right taillight. I was able to get one of the bolts off. There are 2 remaining screws that need the bolt taken off, but there appears to be a piece of plastic that is blocking each of the bolts. Do I need to take off additional trim pieces to get to the 2 screws?
Thank you for your help

Those 2 bolts are part of the plastic, just loosen them and wiggle them until they come out.
There are a total of 4 so I'm guessing you missed the one at the bottom, it's tuff to see but it's there.

Were you replacing it because the brake light was not working? Mine included, ive noticed some w210s have the rear right brake light not working. Looked at replacements online and the oe were expensive, the eBay ones on the other hand looked cheap. Did you end up going oe, or did you find some oe looking after market ones?

I was replacing because I backed into a bike rack and broke part of the plastic.
I went with an after market replacement and I am regretting it. the screws matched up to the three holes but when I tightened up the bolts there was a gap between the 2 taillights on the right. I tokk a look and I believe the issue is that the rubber gasket on the replacement is much thicker than the OE and is causing an issue.
