SRS light on
the SRS light just came on in the 1999 e55.
Could this be due to a blown fuse or do I need to take this in to the dealer.
Are my airbags inactive at this point.
Thank you

Needs to go on a STAR system to diagnose the problem. Until then, it is all guesswork. See if someone on the forum with a STAR system is in your area. Otherwise, dealer or indy.

Usually means either (1) passenger seat sensor has failed or (2) seat connecting wiring has failed.
Yes - SRS on the front passenger airbag is default off - and yes - Star system would be needed to diagnose the fault - however Star will not be able to necessarily differentiate between 1 and 2 above... there are some more obscure connections that can cause SRS light - on the front passenger system these are the most common two.
Keep the beat !
