I believe that my rears have two yellow and two one white marks on the 4th coil. Not sure if the fronts are the same or different but I'll try to look. Mine below is 100% factory original U.S.-spec suspension.

Corrections: 3 white + 1 yellow on front; 2 yellow + 1 white on rears. Better pics or how it should look. 275/35/18 rear on Mono II.

Thank for replies guys!
Based on the pictures NAFT1 posted, then US spec E55 is really sits high rather than 2001 facelifted or EU. On weekend ill crawl under my car to see color codes, and even ifts end up being corect springs Ill cut one spin from all 4 to lower it down it really feels high, those lifting center of gravity.

Yup, springs are original with correct markings. I guess 99 E55 supposed to seat high, but I dont like it. Will cut them and post some updates.

I can look into that but knowing the history of this car I doubt that someone ever replaced them or knew about their existence

on picture is facelifted 00-01 E55, not 99, but even on picture its obvious that car sits high. So I guess being high is not only 99 related.
PS. It was a good read, but being strong mercedes fan I drove my friend's 2002 M5 at that thing is monstrous compared to our e55, and almost similar torque wont help much.

I did, and picture posted is NOT 1999 E55, it is facelifted post 2000 model. Look at bumper, side mirrors, hood

My car is a 1999, pictured above, and it sits a bit higher than the European models which are usually used for the press photos. There is nowhere near the wheel arch gap that the OP has. What size/offset wheels & tires are currently on the car? Maybe that's the problem.

MBWorld Fanatic!
The OP's E55 looks like it's ready to go rock crawling... Get some vogtlands, new bilsteins, #4 spring pads and call it a day
